  Treatment
Since ancient times, massage has been recognized as a healing art that offers the therapeutic value of human touch, movement and energy. In the developed world that we live in, people often overlook the importance of physical contact and ignore the physical and psychological benefits that human touch brings. Many know that massage is relaxing and soothing but more than that, massage has been shown to reduce pain, swelling and tension, improve recovery time from illnesses and surgery, improve lymphatic drainage, improve circulation, promote respiratory drainage and even increase peristalsis.
At Renascent, we provide the following massage therapies, specifically chosen to benefit the mind, body and soul. Allow our principal therapist to select the appropriate massage techniques that suit your needs.

Consultation (What to expect from a treatment)
Before we undertake any massage treatment, our therapist will sit in consultation with the client, to assess the suitability of a treatment. Often this will involve requesting personal details of the client’s medical history and details of current ailments. The information given by clients will be kept strictly confidential and assessed only by the therapist.

Aftercare
No treatment is considered complete without advising our clients regarding aftercare. Clients will be given a few simple recommendations on home care, including advice on diet, exercise and tips on how to enhance their “well-being”.
Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy Massage
This is a light massage that uses pure essential oils to work on the pressure points along the spine, thus directly acting on the autonomic nervous system. Aromatherapy massage has an immediate effect of relaxation, unlocking the tension and releasing the energy blockages in our body, greatly improving the general condition of both mind and body.
Egyptian Sports Massage
This is a form of therapeutic massage carried out by the ancient physicians thousands of years ago. Egyptian Sports Massage combines techniques of soft tissue and muscle manipulation, deep and warm kneading to relieve tension and loosen inactive muscles while promoting circulation. A must for people with prolonged muscle aches due to excessive or inactive use of muscles.
Swedish Massage
Developed by Per Henrik Ling in Sweden in the 1820s, this is the basic form of all Western modern methods of massage combining ancient Chinese, Egyptian, Greek and Roman techniques with the modern physiology.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage (MLD)
MLD uses a range of specialized and gentle rhythmic pumping techniques to move the skin in the direction of the lymph flow. This stimulates the lymphatic vessels that carry substances vital to the defence of the body, and removes waste products. MLD is useful for fluid retention, cellulite, constipation, other digestive disorders, migraine, sinus and recurring infections.
